A monohull sailboat is a type of sailboat that has only one hull. A sailing holiday can offer a unique opportunity to enjoy both a challenging sport and peaceful holiday on the same cruise. They have comfortable lounge area, spacious cabins, space for sunbathing and other activities. Sailing yachts tend to be slower than motor yachts and are often preferred by those searching for a peaceful experience and quiet at sea especially in the mediterranean. Sailboats are great for families or small groups who want enjoy an adventure together, or corporate training into their vacations where the focus is on team building. A gulet is a crewed wooden classic Turkish motor sailing yacht built usually in Bodrum or Marmaris. The size of a gulet is 15 to 32 meters in length and features 3 to 10 cabins. All gulets have en suite bathrooms in each cabin. They all come with professional crew (skipper, chef and sailor/waiter). They are mostly made out of wood (teak, mahogany, oak).
Gulets come in three categories:
ECONOMY (or Standard): They are equipped with basic necessities. Each cabin has an en suite bathroom. Most of the time they lack air conditioning and deep freezer. The crew consist of 2 to 3 members - the captain and chef/sailor. This category of gulets are recommended for family vacations or groups of friends who prefer a budget alternative or adventure seeking youngsters and sports enthusiasts.
COMFORT: This category of gulets offer spacious en suite cabins. They are nicely furnished and proper sail riggings, one or two engines, generators, air conditioning, refrigerators and deep freezers. The crew consist of 3 to 4 members who are the captain, chef and on or two sailors. The gulets in this category are often equipped with water sports, such as canoeing, windsurfing, fishing, etc. They are ideal for a family with children or groups of friends.
LUXURY: They are richly furnished with classic or modern designer furniture. The cabins are extremely comfortable with large en suite bathrooms. The cabins accommodate an independent panel controlled air conditioning system, significant space and closets for clothes and personal belongings, flat TV and DVD. The highly disciplined and hospitable crew consisting of 3 to 7 members will take care of your needs promptly. They are the captain, chef, sailor, technician and hostess. The cost of this category of gulet varies according to the size of gulet, the service on board and the navigation area. They are suitable for guest who expect a customized service and a superior gulet holiday experience.
If you prefer comfort and more space, multihulls will suit you perfectly where you can entertain guests without rocking as the parallel twin hulls will offer more stability. They are family friendly and their stable nature makes them suitable for enjoying or even preparing food and drinks while sailing.
They are the most widely available charter yachts equipped for cruising and the most popular crewed vessels for a luxury yacht charter vacation. The cabins tend to be larger with abundant living space. The deck space is ideal for on board entertainment. Motor yachts are powerful and faster vessels, and cover greater distances in less time. So if you are looking to travel widely on your next luxury yacht charter holiday, a motor yacht would be an ideal choice.
